(Surprising) opportunities in challenging times in food supply veterinary medical education

چکیده
Introduction The swine industry and food supply veterinary medical education are facing unprecedented financial challenges. Substantial restructuring is occurring in both areas. Fortunately, I have the pleasure of working with a group of people in academia that have accepted the current financial challenges and the fast evolving changes in animal agriculture as an opportunity to transform food supply veterinary medical education. I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to bring the American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) members up to date on this story and in doing so hope to more broadly engage the AASV membership in the transformation process under way in food supply veterinary medical education.
